Periodontal Therapy

Recent studies show that upwards of 50% of adults are affected by Periodontal disease.  Periodontal disease results from several different factors; genetics, bacteria, and the body's inflammatory response are just a few.  Gingivitis, an early stage of periodontal disease, shows up in the mouth as red, swollen, bleeding gums.  If allowed to progress, some patients experience periodontitis.  This stage of the disease presents with bone loss, loose teeth, tooth loss, and gum recession.  Research continues to support that the bacteria in our mouths, in higher concentrations when Periodontal disease is present, can poorly contribute to systemic health.

Sometimes even brushing and flossing is not enough to combat the bacteria in our mouths, destructing the supporting structures of the teeth.  In order to better serve our patients, our team has received extensive training in Periodontal Therapy.  Our goal is to detect the disease at its earliest stage in order to avoid surgery and reduce the bad bacteria in the mouth that poorly contribute to the body's inflammatory response.  Module Therapy, allows us to treat our patients in a non-invasive manor, while working towards oral stability.  Utilizing bacterial testing, prescription medications, and homecare methods, our staff works with our patients in a team approach to best treat Periodontal Disease bacteria and inflammation.
